Fiercely advocating to raise awareness on temporary fluctuations and regressions in capacity during autistic perimenopause 💕

A publication by Late Diagnosed Neurodivergent, Tenacious Midlife Struggler, and Autistic Perimenopausal Advocate, Sam Galloway (she/her).

The Autistic Perimenopause: A Temporary Regression explores lived experiences of actually autistic people surviving the menopause transition, which can be characterised by sensory overload, burnout and depression.

My aim is for you to feel informed, validated and co-regulated. To safely unmask, develop self-advocacy skills and know that you are not alone.

The Autistic Perimenopause: A Temporary Regression was born out of a personal drive to document the autistic experience of the menopausal transition. Our collective experiences will contribute to the growing bank of knowledge, and empower others to enter their autistic perimenopause feeling informed, validated and able to anticipate any regressions. The academic research is in its infancy, and our neurodivergent community will lead the charge on disseminating this knowledge into our wider communities.

Nothing is paywalled on purpose.
